Awesome Video: "There She Stands"

Trevor thought this song fits perfect on Do The Right Thing. I agree! "There She Stands" by Michael W Smith is a song about the American flag. Enjoy this song and video - I know I did.

I Did Not See One Ounce of Racism, And I Was There - Pastor Ed

VIDEO: They called us racist on CNN

First it was the White House that tried to dismiss us.  Now, on CNN we were attacked again.  This time it was a 3-on-1 attack claiming that we in the tea party movement were racist.  It's like Lloyd Marcus sings in his song, "American Tea Party Anthem":  "So when they call you a racist, because you disagree, it's just another of their dirty tricks, to silence you and me."

I was on Campbell Brown's show on CNN - and I was the "1" against the other "3" who were suggesting that the tea party movement was racist.  I did my best to stand my ground during the attack - I welcome your input on how I did.  Post at the YouTube video page from the CNN segment below:

Help us win this fight for America's future.  If you've supported what we've done with the Tea Party Express, the March on Washington, and want to see us continue these efforts and win back Congress from the Far Left in the 2010 elections, then please make an online contribution - HERE.

There are a total of 85 entries with a few videos. The videos I recorded with my cheapo Wally World cam were too shaky and unwatchable. Next time I will have a tripod and a better camcorder.

Yes the old broken nose gray hair beer belly with the chambray shirt and Navy ball cap is me and yes I was in a great deal of pain. How I made it from 08:30 to 20:30(8:30 am to 8:30 pm for you civilians) I can't say. Good drugs or something and lots of Gatoraid and orange juice. Itv may take me months to recover from the fun in the sun and humidity.

Thanks to Kim Region 5 Leader, the ACTIVE presence was solid. She had the banner made and had the table set up with flyers, brochures and handouts.

Update: Tea Party Express!

CNN has a report on the dueling bus tours between our Tea Party Express and Barack Obama's "Health Insurance Reform Now" back.

We are pleased to report that so far the Tea Party Express is drawing larger crowds and better press than Barack Obama's copycat effort.  But with your help we're going to step things up even more, draw larger crowds, and defeat this socialistic health care scheme being advanced by Obama-Pelosi-Reid.

I Love This Story!

Local football coach vows to hold town hall, with or without Congressman Zack Space

Zanesville, Ohio - Through day, through night, through rain, through heat, through cold, and without Congressman Zack Space throughout, Coach Dave Daubenmire has managed to keep smiling.

The Fairfield Christian Academy football coach has been spending twenty hours a day for the last week camped out in front of Democrat Congressman Zack Space's Zanesville office, beseeching the Ohio 18th District Representative to hold an open town hall to hear his constituents concerns.  "Coach" only takes breaks between 2 and 6 pm, just long enough to get to football practice and back.

"It's been trying at times," says Coach.  "But I feel like this is my duty as a citizen.  We have a constitutional right to petition our government.  If we don't exercise those rights, we will lose them."

Yesterday at 10 AM, Coach exercised his right to petition nationally on the Fox News channel's "America's Newsroom" with anchor Megyn Kelly.  The segment lasted for several minutes and can be viewed at http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=8980166&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/americasnewsroom/index.html

Congressman Zack Space has been largely silent on Coach's round-the-clock vigil.  His website still lists no plans for a town hall.  http://space.house.gov/

"I've been sleeping here for no other reason than to ensure than my generation passes a representative government onto my children's generation," insists Coach.  "I'm not representing a party or any narrow interest group.  I'm trying to stand for our republic and our God-granted freedoms.  If a government doesn't act in the interests of its constituents, it falls upon the citizens to inform the government of its failure.  Unfortunately Zack Space won't listen."

And because Zack Space hasn''t listened, Coach is throwing a town hall of his own.

"The voices of the citizenry will be heard," says Coach.  "We have a moral obligation to petition our government, and if Zack Space won't come to us.  We will come to him."

Coach's town hall will be held at 6 PM tomorrow, Thursday, September 3rd on the courthouse steps in downtown Zanesville.  All are welcome to attend.  Zack Space has been invited, but his office has yet to return Coach's calls.

Tonight will be Coach Dave's seventh in a row sleeping on his makeshift cot, assembled from the removable backseat of his red 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan, set up beneath the stars and the gilded Congressional Seal hung outside Representative Zack Space's office.

God Bless America

Words and music by Irving Berlin
© Copyright 1938, 1939 by Irving Berlin

"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

The Story Behind 'God Bless America'

After the September 11 terror attacks on the United States, the song "God Bless America" became kind of a rallying cry in the United States - almost a second national anthem. It was spontaneously sung by members of the U.S. Congress. It's been sung at memorial services, and even at sporting events

Most people have probably never heard that opening part of Irving Berlin's "God Bless America." It speaks of gathering storm clouds and raising voices to a land that's fair. And most people who have heard it probably assume that was written just prior to World War II, since that's when it became popular.

But according to Ed Jablonski, Irving Berlin's friend and colleague, "God Bless America" was written at the end of World War I for a revue calledYip Yip Yaphank.Yaphank was a small town close to where Irving Berlin was stationed in the Army.

But "God Bless America" never made it into that revue. Mr. Jablonski said, "In 1939, the war began in Europe, and he sort of felt that it could hit us. So he dug out this song from 1918, revised the lyrics a bit, and gave the song to Kate Smith, who was a very popular singer at the time."

Berlin's friend Ed Jablonski was glued to his radio for that first performance. "I remember I heard it on November 11, 1939," he said. "I was a kid in high school then. And I really loved it. It's simple. It's to the point. It's not war-mongering."

Today many actors, singers, sports figures and just ordinary people are giving generously in support of the victims of the recent terror attacks. But Mr. Jablonski recalled that this kind of generosity has a long tradition. Take, for example, Irving Berlin's royalties for "God Bless America."

"All the royalties that came in from that song, which became one of the most popular songs in the country for years, all the income from that song went to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and people never forgot it. This guy was one of the really true patriotic Americans that I have met."

Mr. Jablonski explained why he thought there was such a renewed interest in "God Bless America" at this specific time. "Of course," He said, "now it's even more memorable than before because of what happened. When something horrible happened, it's amazing how people worked together and helped one other. I've heard some wonderful things about what people are doing now. It happened after Pearl Harbor here. It happened in the Battle of Britain. And, it happened after the madmen ran into those towers."

Mr. Jablonski lives in New York City and witnessed the crumbling of the towers of the World Trade Center. He added, "My daughter said she was walking along the street somewhere in Brooklyn. She was closer to the thing that I was. And, she was breathing smoke and ash. She said the whole text of the song was written on a window."

Irving Berlin's "God Bless America" - a hymn to freedom, once again inspiring a nation.

SCRIPTURES USED

2 Chronicles 30

23 The whole assembly then agreed to celebrate the festival seven more days; so for another seven days they celebrated joyfully. 24 Hezekiah king of Judah provided a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep and goats for the assembly, and the officials provided them with a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep and goats. A great number of priests consecrated themselves. 25The entire assembly of Judah rejoiced, along with the priests and Levites and all who had assembled from Israel, including the aliens who had come from Israel and those who lived in Judah.26There was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem.27The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place.

Do The Right Thing Radio Celebrates Show 300

This coming Monday, August 10th, we will be celebrating the 300th episode of Do The Right Thing Radio. We are inviting some of the guests that have been on the show in the past to help us with this special show! We are hoping to have as many members of the Cyber Crew as possible on that night as well.

Annieb and I love doing the show, and God has blessed us in unbelievable ways during this special ministry He has placed in our lives.

I have been wanting to put together a "What Do The Right Thing means to me" document where people send in the answer to that question. Sooooo, I thought that would be a good tie-in for Monday's show. If DTRT has been a blessing to you in any manner - send us an email and I've got a couple of purposes for putting this together.

If you have access to the Cinch feature on BTR, you can record a short message and we can use that as well.

Remember, if you do this, the glory is not for us but for HIM!

More show info in the days to follow.

In addition, first take a moment to lift Lt Behenna and his family up in prayer! I think the folks who listen to our show know the power of prayer - so let's continue to put this situation before the Almighty One!

Having one of our precious troops serving time in Leavenworth for killing an Al-Queda terrorist is unacceptable - tune in to learn more and to support one of America's finest!

Maybe The Ball Is Finally Rolling - Let's Don't Let Up

Praise God,

This week at a hearing, Congresswoman Fallin questioned the Army's top lawyer on the floor of the House of Representatives concerning Michael's case (see video link below). Fallin has been an advocate of Michael all along and vigorously pursued the miscarriage of justice that occurred, but publicly questioning the Army about the fairness of the trial was a huge step.

We have been swarmed with letters and emails and petition comments as a result of Representative Fallin's inquiry. We are told that other Oklahoma Congressional Delegation members and others in the Congress and Senate are also working behind the scenes, but this is the Nationwide publicity that Michael's case deserves.

We ask that you pass on this email to others who would need to read and hear it. Have them visit Michael's web site DEFENDMICHAEL.COM to find more information. The National media has made inquiries and through your help this will bear fruit and we will force this issue to the top where the Army must act to correct this situation.

Fallen Soldier's Memoriam Rockets Up Twitter 'Charts'

A photo of Aaron Fairbairn found on his MySpace page. A father's desire to honor his stepson, slain in Afghanistan on Independence Day, quickly became one of Twitter's top-trending topics late Saturday and early Sunday.

"They killed my son, Aaron!" tweeted David M. Masters, a public speaker, author and weight-loss coach in Aberdeen, Wash., at about 6 p.m. EDT Saturday.

"He was minding his own business BS-ing with an Officer on base in Afghanistan... When a suicide bomber, driving a truck breached the perimiter and pushed the button...Killing my son, Aaron and the Officer," continued Masters in three more "tweets," which have a limit of 140 characters each.

"I'd like to see "Thank you, Aaron," show up on the Trending Topics for giving his life on Independence Day in Afghanistan," Master quickly added.

The phrase "#thankyouaaron" quickly rose up the Twitter charts and stayed there through Sunday morning, after which it was crowded out by half a dozen Wimbledon-related terms.

Happy 4th of July!

Posted: 05 Jul 2009 04:34 PM PDT

Wow. It's been a busy weekend! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July. My mother in law took the girls for the weekend and I spent it with friends. We had a blast and, once again, feel so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. It's hard to believe that on July 3, Rob deployed for Afghanistan. If I'd only knew it would have been the last time he hugged and kissed us, I would have held on longer. Through this whole experience, I've learned to cherish the times with the ones that are important to you. You never know when your time with them can be cut short. Although Rob is gone, I still continue to feel his presence among us. Although, it was a tragedy to lose him, I'm recognizing God's blessings surrounding me. I've "slowed down to smell the roses". Even though my days are hectic, I cherish the time with my girls and know that all too quickly they will grow up. I cherish my family and friends and how much they love and support us. And I also reflect more on the meaning behind holidays such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and the 4th of July. Our military men and women fought for our freedom, some making the ultimate sacrifice. It's easy to take that for granted until it smacks you right in the face. I'm proud to be an American and I'm so grateful that I live in the land of the free. I will never take that for granted because as I now know without a doubt: freedom isn't free.

Please Pray for Snooper
