We have moved Do The Right Thing to a new location and have changed from being the blog of Pastor Ed and the Cyber Crew to being the blog of the Cyber Crew with Pastor Ed being a member of "da Crew".

The new site is about a group of Christian Conservatives who talk about Christianity, politics, and the troops.

I am a veteran. There are many like me. We are not the government's veterans, we are your veterans. Some of us gave all, but all gave some and we have known hardship, service, fear, and brotherhood in ways that most people can't even imagine. We have seen our brothers killed and maimed, and sometimes become disfigured along the way. We have taken lives for our country, and returned to our lives as your neighbors, fathers, and native sons. Our courage is undeniable, yet it remains a trait we keep in silent humility, sharing only with a fellow veteran, if at all.

We don't ask for much but there are two things we will ask if you love this country as much as those of us who have sacrificed so much, many who have given their last full measure.

Pray for those of us who remain and never, ever forget those who rest now in cemeteries all over this beautiful land and on foreign soil, and those who remain in battlefields known but to God.

We are the thousands who fought for you, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, loved ones who answered the call to protect and defend this greatest nation on God's green earth.

'Idol' Upset: Did The Evangelical Christian Vote Push Kris Allen Over The Edge?

Kris Allen was indeed the underdog going into the "American Idol" finale on Wednesday evening, and the vibe inside the Nokia Theater was definitely in favor of the more controversial, theatrical and incredibly "out there" California native Adam Lambert.

"Adam has the potential to be a star so overall you could say he deserves to win," Simon Cowell told Tarts on Wednesday afternoon. "But this is 'American Idol,' anything could happen and we could have an upset."

And an upset for Cowell it clearly was -- the outspoken judge was the only one not to give Allen a standing ovation when he was announced the 2009 winner as determined by a record-breaking 100 million votes.

So was it the Christian vote that prevailed in Allen's favor?

The 2009 season of FOX broadcasting's "American Idol" had it's share of open and honest Christians who shared their faith as much as possible. Not known to many viewers is the fact that two contestants held joint-bible studies and even converted people to Christ.

Kris Allen and Danny Gokey both have strong connection to their faith but it was Kris who overcame the odds set by media-hype that fellow contestant Adam Lambert would be the winner. However the millions of Christians who prayed and organized online prayer groups asking for God to intervene would have the final say.

"It wasn't about asking God to make sure he won" says a Kris Allen fan. "It's about showing America conservative principals are still very much alive"

Even with the increasing liberal tide the country seams to be taking through the media has not taken over "American Idol". Over the past eight seasons 7 out of the 8 winners have in some form openly shared their faith and held bible study.

Kris Allen shows that someone in their 20's can be traditional and conservative in today's every increasing liberal world. At the age of 23 he has been married for a few years and is active with his church community.

This year turned out to be one of the closest years where even Simon Cowell considered the "head-judge" couldn't predict the turn out. Kris Allen's debut single hits radio airwaves tomorrow (May 21) titled "No Boundaries" which has also been arranged to be pick up by many contemporary Christian radio stations.

This came in as a comment from Cyber Crew member Bert. I thought it was too good not to make a post out of. It's great that Bert is once again able to give his unique perspective on the issues.

Bert's Take On Waterboarding

What amazes me is that "waterboarding" continues to be classified as torture. I watch as the MSM continues to show a clip of a guy tied up being dunked in a swimming pool and this is portrayed as waterboarding.

I have been personally waterboarded twice.

The reason one is restrained is so that the towel that is put over one's face doesn't fall off when one tries to sit up. When the towel is put on one's face, the interrogator merely pours a bit of water on the towel. If you try to suck a bunch of air then, you will think you can't breathe.

In truth, there isn't enough water to drown you nor do you suffer enough lack of oxygen for you to pass out or have any bodily functions shut down. But compared to what others do to get information, this is relatively harmless.

But the thing that I am constantly amazed at is when folks, including John McCain, say we don't torture so that our guys won't be tortured. El Toro Poo Poo.

We have not fought anyone since the Germans in WWI who adhered to international standards for treatment of prisoners. So this reason is a fallacy. If people want to say that we don't use harsh interrogation techniques because the world will think less of us if we do, that doesn't guarantee that they will support us if we are chivalrous anyway.

My own feeling is that folks like Lanny Davis, Pelosi, Harman, and the like are nothing but sorry parasites that get to suck oxygen because better people than them stopped sucking oxygen in places like Tarawa, the Ardennes, Inchon, Khe Sahn, Takrit, and Helmand Province.

My wife's uncle made it through a bad night at Guadacanal with an entrenching tool he had sharpened on a rock. Davis and his ilk believe a bad night is when their toilet paper is hung backwards on its holder. And so given their sensitivities, none of them are qualified to comment or judge what is torture or not.
